In dire need of a pick-me-up…

So in my constant battle against the throes of secondary PTSD (my job can be a drag at times, lol) I browsed one of my favorite sites, “World Prayers” (see the “Links” section on the sidebar) for some words of encouragement. Here’s some of the gems I found today:

I’m not trying to counsel any of you
to do anything really special
except to dare to think,
and to dare to go with the truth,
and to dare to really love completely.
–r. buckminster fuller – 1895-1983
Happiness be the lot of him who works
for the happiness of others.
May the Lord grant him health and endurance.
–gathas of zarathushtra – yasna 43:1 – ±1700 bce.
Do not seek too much fame,
but do not seek obscurity.
Be proud.
But do not remind the world of your deeds.
Excel when you must,
but do not excel the world.
Many heroes are not yet born,
many have already died.
To be alive to hear this song is a victory.
–west african song
“I always believe that it is much better
to have a variety of religions, a variety of philosophies,
rather than one single religion or philosophy.

This is necessary because of the different
mental dispositions of each human being.

Each religion has certain unique ideas or techniques,
and learning about them can only enrich one’s own faith.”
his holiness the 14th dalai lama – 1981
And don’t forget: if you round up, Wednesday is pretty much Friday. Math can be so useful at times :)
